Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

FreeSEOTools.io ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.

By using FreeSEOTools.io you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the service.

2. Client-Side Tools — Your Data Stays in Your Browser

The majority of our 75+ SEO tools run entirely within your browser. Text you paste into tools such as the Character Counter, Case Converter, Base64 Encoder, URL Encoder, or Color Converter is processed locally on your device and is never sent to our servers. We have no access to that content.

3. Server-Side Tools — URL Analysis

Some tools (such as the Meta Analyzer, Sitemap Validator, SSL Checker, Broken Link Checker, and HTTP Headers checker) require us to fetch a URL on your behalf. For these tools, the URL you submit is sent to our API route, which retrieves the page and returns results to you.

We do not permanently store the URLs you submit to server-side tools. Short-lived request logs may be retained for up to 90 days for debugging and abuse prevention purposes, after which they are automatically deleted.

4. Account Registration & Profile Data

When you create an account we collect your email address and optionally your name. This information is stored securely in our database (Supabase, hosted on AWS in the EU/US region). We also store:

  • —Your subscription plan (Free, Pro, or Agency)
  • —Daily API tool usage counts (to enforce fair-use limits)
  • —Account creation date and last sign-in timestamp

Your password is never stored in plain text. Authentication is handled by Supabase Auth, which stores only a secure hash.

5. Payment Processing

All payment processing is handled by Stripe. We never see, receive, or store your credit card number, CVV, or other sensitive payment details. Stripe provides us only with a customer ID, subscription status, and billing period information, which we store to manage your plan access.

Stripe's privacy practices are governed by the Stripe Privacy Policy.

6. Cookies & Tracking Technologies

We use the following categories of cookies:

  • —Essential cookies — Required for the site to function. These include your authentication session token (set by Supabase Auth when you log in). You cannot opt out of these without losing access to your account.
  • —Analytics cookies (Google Analytics 4) — Used to understand how visitors use the site (page views, session duration, traffic sources). GA4 is configured with IP anonymisation enabled. These cookies are only set with your consent.
  • —Advertising cookies (Google AdSense) — We plan to display Google AdSense ads on the free tier. AdSense may set cookies to show you relevant ads based on your browsing activity. These cookies are only set with your explicit consent.

You can withdraw consent for non-essential cookies at any time by clearing your browser cookies or using your browser's privacy settings.

7. Third-Party Services

We rely on the following third-party providers to operate our service:

  • —Vercel — Hosts and serves the application. Vercel may log IP addresses and request metadata. Vercel Privacy Policy

  • —Stripe — Payment processor for Pro and Agency subscriptions. We share your email with Stripe for billing purposes. Stripe Privacy Policy
  • —Resend — Transactional email provider. Used to send account confirmations, password resets, and support replies from info@freeseotools.io. Resend Privacy Policy
  • —Google Analytics 4 — Used to measure site traffic and user behaviour, with IP anonymisation enabled. Only activated with your consent. Google Privacy Policy
  • —Google AdSense — Advertising network that may display ads on free-tier pages. Only activated with your explicit consent. AdSense may use cookies and device identifiers to serve personalised ads.

8. Your GDPR Rights

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with similar data protection laws, you have the following rights:

  • —Right of access — Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • —Right to rectification — Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • —Right to erasure — Request deletion of your account and associated personal data.
  • —Right to data portability — Receive your data in a machine-readable format.

9. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we will remove your personal data (email, name, usage history, and subscription records) within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or tax purposes.

Server-side tool request logs are automatically purged after 90 days. Transactional email records (confirmation and password reset emails) are retained for 90 days.

10. Children's Privacy

FreeSEOTools.io is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes we will notify registered users by email. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
